Squash Australia welcomes the wider Australian squash community to join in celebrating Wear It Purple Day (WIPD) on Friday 26 August. Founded in 2010, Wear It Purple Day is about showing LGBTIQ+ young people that they have the right to be proud of who they are by creating safe spaces in schools, universities, workplaces and public places.

World Junior Squash Championships to begin Thursday

The 2022 World Junior Squash Championships will get underway on Thursday 11 August in Nancy, France from 11-21 August with the singles competition. It is the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic that the event will take place after the cancellation of both the 2020 and 2021 editions set to be held in Australia and Egypt, respectively.

India deny Australia bronze in the mixed doubles

Australia’s Donna Lobban and Cameron Pilley have gone down in the mixed doubles bronze medal match against Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Saurav Ghosal of India. In a re-match of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, where Lobban and Pilley won gold, the Indian pairing flipped the result on its head with a 2-0 victory.

Two Aussies through to Birmingham 2022 Round of 16 singles

Australia will have two players flying the flag in the Round of 16 of the women's squash singles at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games after Jess Turnbull and Donna Lobban secured wins on Day two of competition. Turnbull started her Birmingham 2022 women's singles campaign with a 3-1 win over Malta's Colette Sultana. The Commonwealth Games debutant was the first of the Aussie contingent up on court at the University of Birmingham.
