Published Wed 17 Feb 2021
ABC Radio yesterday interviewed Squash NSW CEO Kristi Maroc for a half hour talkback segment on "The Evolution of Squash".
To hear Kristi's vision and insights about the new energy in squash in NSW and across Australia, and initiatives underway to increase participation and profile of the sport, you can jump to 11'30" minutes into the audio above.
Kristi was joined by Robyn Prentice, coach at Squash4Life and president of the Queensland Masters Squash Association, who discussed her experiences during her 'lifetime of squash', both from a personal and professional perspective, and the health and social benefits of kids getting involved in the sport.
Host James Valentine played squash many years ago as a school boy in Ballarat, and gave a rundown of his personal history with squash. "What an extraordinary talent I was as a junior squash player," he said. "In the world of Ballarat schoolboy squash, I was right up there...at 16 and 17, I was pretty competitive that's for sure."
