Squash Australia calls for Expressions of Interest to host the 2022 Australian National Championships

Squash Australia is pleased to announce that we are accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) to host the 2022 Australian National Championships.
The event has become a significant milestone on the Australian squash calendar attracting over 150 entries in 2021 and is only continuing to grow with this year’s Australian National Championships scheduled to take place between 23-26 June.
Since 2017, it has offered both Men’s and Women’s Open events as well as graded divisions.
The decision to open EOI applications for the 2022 Australian National Championships follows the release of an independent Competition and Event review in December last year that is set to restructure, refine and standardise competitions and events held by Squash Australia.
The review provided valuable input from all stakeholders including facility managers, owners and operators, promoters, as well as State and Territory bodies with it highlighting the need for clarity and direction around the availability of national events.
Owners and operators around Australia will have until 18 February 2022 to submit their EOI to host this year’s event.
In light of today’s announcement, Squash Australia will be further implementing a newly established EOI policy. The policy defines an annual EOI period from 1 April to 30 June to host Squash Australia events including the Australian Junior Open, Australian National Championships and Australian Doubles Open.
The policy will also include new events to be introduced from 2023 such as the Australian Club Championships, National Schools Championship and Squash 57 Masters Championships.
