The Australian Doubles Open wrapped up with thrilling matches across the board and the following partnerships were crowned as Australian Open Doubles Champions for 2021:

Mixed Doubles Open
3rd Place – Vicky Boswell/Thomas Calvert
Runner-up – Jenny Duncalf/Matthew Hopkin
Winner – Rachael Grinham/Jordan Till

Men’s Doubles Open
3rd place – Bryan Lim/Bradley Hindle
Runner-up – Brad Freeme/Nathan Turnbull
Winner – Rhys Dowling/Matthew Hopkin 

Women’s Doubles Open
3rd Place – Alex Haydon/Sarah Cardwell
Runner-up – Jessica Turnbull/Tamika Hunt
Winner – Jenny Duncalf/Rachael Grinham

A Grade Combined Doubles
3rd Place – Heather Pilley/Miles Till
Runner-up – Clay Canty/Josh Raj
Winner – Aidan Rowston/Martin Collins

B/C Grade Combined Doubles
3rd Place – Ian Wolski/Ian Purnell
Runner-up – Tracey Partridge/Brad Allen
Winner – Kayden Canty/Joel Raj

The longest match of the day came from the Men’s Open Semi-Finals between Bradley Hindle/Bryan Lim and Rhys Dowling/Matthew Hopkin. This match went down to the wire with Dowling/Hopkin taking out the win 11-10, 7-11, 11-10 (34 mins).

The Women’s Open was decided in the final match as we saw the top seeds [1] Jenny Duncalf/Rachael Grinham prove their seeding as they took to the court against [2] Jess Turnbull/Tamika Hunt. Duncalf/Grinham won for the third year in a row 11-7, 11-5 (16 mins).

In the Men’s Open, last year’s champions [3] Brad Freeme/Nathan Turnbull once again saw themselves in the final but fell one short as they were beaten by [1] Rhys Dowling/Matthew Hopkin 11-9, 11-8 (23 mins).

The surprise result of the day came in the Mixed Open as we saw both of last year’s finalists take to the court, [4] Rachael Grinham/Jordan Till and [2] Jenny Duncalf/Matthew Hopkin. This was a final that could have gone either way but Till/Grinham claimed the title for the second time as a partnership 11-10, 11-10 (27 mins).
