Squash Australia announce Salming Next Generation Program Participants

Squash Australia is pleased to announce the Salming Next Generation Program Participants.
The program is for young and emerging squash players under the age of 19, who display an outstanding attitude towards training and competition, as well as being supportive of their teammates and competitors, and respectful of coaches and officials.
Squash Australia National Pathways Coach Jenny Duncalf says the program is great recognition for the efforts and dedication the program recipients have displayed over the past 12 months.
“I’m very excited about the launch of the Salming Next Generation Program and pleased for the players involved who have been recognised as not just capable squash players but also as juniors who have shown a positive attitude towards training and are a good example to teammates around them,” Duncalf said.
Players were selected through each State Performance Pathway Coordinator (SPPC) and the Squash Australia National Pathways Coach. Each SPPC identified players who they believed met the criteria and through discussions, a final squad of ten players (five girls, five boys) was selected with representation from each state proportional to the SPPC allocation.
Each player selected will receive $1000 worth of Salming equipment, access to online coaching sessions with National Pathways Coach, and an invitation to Performance Pathway Talent Camps.
“Equipment sponsorship is a huge help as a junior and it’s fantastic that Salming and Squash Australia have worked together to provide this support,” Duncalf said.
“I look forward to working with the players as they continue their journeys in squash,” she added.
Salming Global Racquet Sports Manager Steve Walton says the program provides opportunities to inspire athletes to reach their high potential.
"Our goal at Salming is to encourage and inspire athletes to achieve their best. This partnership underpins our relationship as both the Official Racquet and Shoe of Squash Australia and our goal is to show the participants that they are on the right path and that we believe in them," Walton said.
To celebrate the Salming Next Generation Program Participants announcement, Squash Australia will introduce each of the 10 players across our social media platforms over the coming weeks.
Squash Australia would like to congratulate all the players.
