Sandgate held the Semi-Finals of the Sandgate Women's Open last night.

Hometown favourite Jess Turnbull took on fellow club member Tamika Hunt in the first semi-final, Tamika sprinted to a 2-0 game lead in the match playing at such a ridiculous pace. It was no wonder Jess couldn’t keep up,

Volleying like she was more like 6 foot 5, Jess was able to rebound in the third and fourth with a much more attacking short game to level it up for the decider.

The fith game was tight and it wasn’t until 6-4 that Tamika really stamped her dominance on the match, coming home the stronger of the two with some really confident hitting, She couldn't miss the ridiculous backhand volley roller that Tamika hit on the way.

Sarah Cardwell found it very tough going in the first game against Colette Sultana and Colette had her chances to take the first game, but luckily for Sarah she went for three crazy volley drops towards the end of the game and they were all outright winners to win 12-10.

Sarah was able to storm home to win in three games.
