International field chasing a goldrush in Kalgoorlie

The PSA Challenger Tour returns to Kalgoorlie this week where the Cooper Fluid System Golden Open sees athletes from 12 different nations competing.

Leading the charge is 2022 Junior World Champion Rowan Damming who returns down under chasing a fifth Tour victory.

The Dutchman's last win came at the City of Greater Bendigo International last year where he took down Dylan Molinaro in the final.

In Kalgoorlie Damming fills the men's top seed slot with Czech Ondrej Vorlícek on the opposite side of the draw. Australian representative Nick Calvert shares the 3/4 seeding with New Zealand #7 Joel Arscott.

Benjamin Ratcliffe, Mike Corren, Remi Young, Jason Patmore, Cameron Darton, James Nicholas and Daniel Marsh make up the rest of the Australian contingent in the men's tournament.

Victoria's Sarah Cardwell sits atop the women's draw as the No.1 seed, while Queensland's No.2 seed Madison Lyon is high on confidence after claiming her maiden PSA Challenger Tour title in Auckland earlier this month.

Cardwell defeated Erin Classen in the 2021 final before the West Australian claimed the title the last two years.

Remashree Muniandy, Sze Yu Lee and Shona Coxsedge are the other Australians in the women's draw.

Beyond the PSA event, there 18 additional divisions of competition being held over the next three days at the Eastern Goldfields Squash Racquets Association, with every division battling for a Gold Nugget!
