Donna Lobban will make her 2020-2021 PSA World Championships debut tonight in Chicago, as she faces Lily Taylor (ENG) in the first round of the event. The match is scheduled for Friday 16 July 2.30am AEST (11.30am local time), with the live feed of the World Championships available on the official Facebook page of the PSA World Tour and on Squash TV for subscribers.

Lobban is seeded #20 in the draw and is the only Australian player in the PSA World Championships (men and women).

“I am really looking forward to competing in the World Champs here in Chicago,” she said.

“I am really happy with my preparation leading up to this week. It’s been a while since my last tournament, so I can’t wait to get started!”

The 34-year-old veteran, who now resides and trains in the UK, played her only other PSA tournament of the year in March, when she lost in five games to Sana Ibrahim at the Black Ball Open in Egypt. Her last match on US soil was in 2020.

“It’s exciting to be back competing in the US again for the first time since March last year. Hopefully this is the first of many events to be back on again in this part of the world,” Lobban said.

Lobban and Taylor have met only once before, with the Australian taking the win with a commanding 3-0 in the first round at the Montecarlo Squash Classic 2019.
