City Tattersalls Group Australian Open moves to March 2024

Squash Australia and the Professional Squash Association (PSA) have announced that the City Tattersalls Group Australian Open has been moved from November 2023 to March 2024.

The tournament will now take place in Sydney on 20-24 March 2024, with the event set to occupy this part of the international calendar in future years.

Squash Australia CEO Robert Donaghue said the move has simply brought forward the planned realignment of the tournament in the PSA Tour schedule, and the date shift doesn’t slow down plans to make the tournament the best yet.

“We were expecting to move the tournament into the first quarter of the year in 2025, however as we worked through the overall event planning it became clear that we should make the move now rather than in 12 months time,” said Donaghue.

“We’re well down the track with preparing for the next City Tattersalls Group Australian Open and will have some exciting announcements to make in the near future.

“The tournament has returned to the PSA World Tour (Bronze), ensuring the March event will attract its strongest international field in more than a decade.

“Australian squash fans are in for something special in Sydney next year and we are excited to be ushering in a new era for such an iconic tournament.”
