Aussie opponents drawn for World Juniors

The draws have been announced for the World Junior Championships individual events later this month in Houston, with Australia’s 12 players now aware of their opening round opponents.
With the men’s draw exceeding 128 players, five of Australia’s six players receive a bye through the first round.
Draws and seedings for the team events, which are being held concurrently for the first time in World Juniors history, will be announced following the commencement of the individual event.
The individual events start on 12 July, with the team’s events commencing on 18 July.

MEN
James Slade (NSW) v Abdullah Ali (KUW)
> If James makes it through the first round he will face top-seeded Egyptian Mohamed Zakaria.
Daniel Marsh (WA) v BYE
> Daniel moves straight into the second round where he plays Spain’s Adrian Revert Escutia.
Haider Naqvi (VIC) v BYE
> Daniel moves straight into the second round where he plays South Africa’s Matthew Earl.

> William moves straight into the second round where he plays New Zealand’s Oliver Dunbar.

> Kasper moves straight into the second round where he plays India’s Avalokit Singh.
