Alex Haydon and Bryan Lim have clinched the top prize at the 2022 Gold Coast PSA Open.

The Gold Coast PSA Satellite event, which took place from 28-30 January, was the first event of its kind this year with competition across Women's and Men's plus Men's Plate.

There was a raft of talent on show at Carrara Squash Centre over the three days of competition, accumulating in the final on Sunday 30 January with Joseph White and Bryan Lim in the men's final while Alex Haydon and Tamika Hunt were vying for victory in the women's final.

It was an excellent start to the final from White, who took the opening game with some steady controlled squash but from the start of the second Lim managed to assert himself around the middle of the court using a variety of holds and attacks at the front of the court.

Though White fought hard to stay in touch with Lim, a member of the Daisy Hill Squash and Racquet Club, took control to win the next three and the title.

Over in the women's draw, it was a great final between Haydon and Hunt, which went back and forth all the way. In the fifth game, both players had led at different stages, however, it was Haydon who managed to produce a run of error-free points at the back end of the game to seal the victory.

The next PSA event will be the Roberts & Morrow North Coast Open PSA on 16-20 February in Coffs Harbour.
