The 2023 Australian National Championships are underway at Thornleigh Squash & Fitness Centre in Sydney, with small number of matches taking place on Thursday evening.
Seven of the men’s top eight seeds were in action earlier today with seeds 2 through 7 all making it through to the quarter-finals.
The most dominant performance came from 2022 runner-up Rhys Dowling who dropped just four points in his match.
Third seed Nick Calvert showed no signs of fatigue having returned from the World Cup in Chennai last weekend, not dropping a game en route to the next round.
Australian Junior Open U19 champion Oscar Curtis made it to the semi-finals in 2022 and kicked off this year’s campaign on the right note, claiming victory in just 17 minutes.
