The Next Gen Squad, supported by Inform and Salming, has been developed to identify and support Australia’s best junior squash players under 15 years of age who have the greatest chance of achieving outstanding results at future World Junior Championships (WJC).

Australia’s best performed juniors at each WJC have achieved excellent results at national junior events from a young age. To ensure Australian juniors are prepared to achieve the best possible results at future WJCs, these talented juniors should be identified at an early age to ensure their pathway towards future WJCs maximises their chances of achieving outstanding results at these events.

Next Gen Squad members will receive ongoing support and guidance from Squash Australia’s National Coaching Team, as well as receive access to several other Performance Pathway initiatives.

  • SqA National Performance Pathway Camps
  • SqA State Performance Pathway Camps
  • National Junior Tour Groups, including the British Junior Open Tour.

The Next Gen Squad will sit below the National Junior Talent Squad in Squash Australia’s Performance Pathway. Once players turn 15 and age out of the Next Gen Squad, they would be expected to become a member of a National Junior Talent Squad, providing their performance warrants selection.
