During this FREE online conversation, we will discuss the essential role volunteers play in enabling major sporting events.  We will explore who is volunteering at major events, reasons why and how you can apply these learnings into future sport delivery. 

Hosted by Dr. Lindsey Reece (Australian Sports Commission) and Dr. Sue Regan (Volunteering Australia), this session will feature prominent speakers from within the sport volunteer sector including:

  • Shannan GoveCo-Founder of Rosterfy, presenting data driven insights on volunteer demographics and roles from major sporting events such as the recent FIFA World Cup, ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup and more.
  • Dr. Tracey DicksonUniversity of Canberra, sharing research on what motivates someone to volunteer at a major sporting event, with a particular focus on First Nations Australians.

A facilitated Q and A will explore how we can leverage volunteering at major sport events to drive enhanced community outcomes.
