Squash Australia adopts World Squash Coaching (WSC) certification

Squash Australia is pleased to announce that it will adopt the World Squash Coaching (WSC) certification into its education framework. The WSC certifications are set to form a core element of certification for coaches in Australia with current Squash Australia certifications set to expire over the coming years.

Squash Australia (SQA) has teamed up with the world's most advanced squash rating system, SquashLevels, to bring the national squash-playing community together. The landmark new partnership was announced in late 2021, and now the SquashLevels platform is ready to be integrated at the social, grassroots, club, and elite level right around the country, to digitally revolutionise the sport for players of all levels.

Squash Australia is pleased to announce they will be launching a new national registration and competition management platform with revolutioniseSPORT. revolutioniseSPORT is an emerging market leader in online club management in Australia. The platform supports both grassroots clubs and peak sporting bodies, and currently supports a combined 241 National and State Sporting Organisations across Australia.

Squash Australia join 11 other sports in Pride in Sport Collective launch

Pride in Sport (PiS) in partnership with twelve National Sporting Organisations (NSOs), including Squash Australia, have come together to form and launch the ‘Pride in Sport Collective’. The Pride in Sport Collective will change the landscape of Australian sport by addressing the barriers and mental health disparities of the LGBTQ+ community and their high disconnect rates with sport.

Squash Australia is pleased to announce its partnership with Sport Integrity Australia and the adoption of the National Integrity Framework and associated integrity policies. This is an important step in protecting our sport from integrity threats and providing all our participants with a safe and inclusive environment whilst enabling complaints to be handled consistently and independently by Sport Integrity Australia.

WSF statement regarding WSF World Junior Championships

Earlier today, the Board of the World Squash Federation (WSF) held an extraordinary meeting to confirm WSF’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The WSF World Junior Championships 2022, scheduled to be played 9-20 August in St. Petersburg, Russia, will be relocated from Russia to an alternative venue, details of which shall be released in due course.

Grinham and Hedrick take out Roberts & Morrow North Coast Open

Rachael Grinham and Rex Hedrick have won the Roberts & Morrow North Coast Open PSA Challenger Tour event in Coffs Harbour after victories in the men’s and women’s open respectively. It was the first event in 10 months to be held at Coffs Harbour after tournaments were postponed due to COVID-19 related travel restrictions. Alex Haydon eyes green and gold in 2022

It’s been a blistering start to the year for Alex Haydon. The up-and-coming squash player won the women’s event at the Australian Open Doubles in January, alongside Rachael Grinham. Two weeks later, she took out the top prize in the women’s singles at the Gold Coast Open PSA, beating the likes of former world no.1 Grinham and 2018 Commonwealth Games representative Tamika Hunt.

2022 Australian Doubles Open ends with a bang

The 2022 Australian Doubles Open has come to a fanatic end with a host of finals on Sunday 23 January. Opening day of Australian Doubles Open off to flying start

National level squash competition returned to Carrara Squash Centre with the Australian Doubles Open on Saturday (22 January). It was a day filled with excitement, anticipation and thrilling matches on the Gold Coast that will accumulate on Sunday with several finals.

Vale Paul Vear

Squash Australia would like to extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of Paul Vear, who sadly passed away yesterday afternoon. Vear’s passion for squash and racquetball was evident through his dedication and contribution to the sport, which saw him awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours List, An award he received late last year.
